November 3, 2009 (PRESS RELEASE) -- Chicagoans get a "free trim" at HALO FOR MEN on November 3rd to Help Change the Face of Men's Health.
WHAT:
Movember is a global charity that invites men to grow moustaches for the month of November. The "Mo," slang for moustache, serves as the "ribbon" and the vehicle by which participants raise funds and awareness for men's health. In conjunction, Wahl Trimmers has been travelling the country in support of Movember and giving free professional trims. Since all Movember participants must start November 1 with a clean-shaven face, Wahl will donate $1 to every man who gets trimmed up on November 3.
WHEN:
Tuesday, November 3 from 6:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
WHERE:
HALO for Men @ 70 W Madison (Clark & Madison)
WHO:
Jonny Imerman, two-time testicular cancer survivor and Founder of Imerman Angels in Chicago a not-for-profit providing one-on-one cancer support, who will get a clean shave before Movember begins.
Local Mo Bros: Chicago guys who are signed up for Movember and re ready to sport their 'stache!
WHY:
To change the face of men's health! A man is diagnosed with prostate cancer every eight minutes and a man dies from prostate cancer every 18 minutes around the clock 365 days a year.
Movember, and specifically, the moustache, is a tool for men to break the ice in talking about a taboo subject -- their health. All money raised in the US will benefit the LAF and the Prostate Cancer Foundation. To date, over $47 million has been raised to support men's health issues and over $372,000 men have grown moustaches to change the face of men's health.
HOW:
Just come down to HALO FOR MEN for your free trim! Registration for Movember is now open at www.movember.com. Whether on their own or as part of a team, men have the month of November to grow and show their 'mo. As a bonus, all seven HALO FOR MEN stores are offering Movember participants free trims for the whole month. Participants celebrate their success during the Chicago Gala Party at LaSalle Power Co. on December 4.
