A Gary, Ind., man has been sentenced to seven years' prison for the theft of metal coils from an elementary school.

The heating coils were stolen from Locke Elementary School in Gary May 23.

Michael Landon Deneal, 56, pleaded guilty to burglary Oct. 5.

Prosecutors say Deneal broke into the school by opening a closed window. He took metal heating coils and attempted to remove metal pipes.
